Artists Bio
Nancy Barry Bio Photo

Originally from Long Island, New York, Nancy Barry is an illustrator and
artist who studied Design at Nassau Community College, Garden City,
NewYork and Fine Arts at Buffalo State College in Buffalo.  She now calls
Greer, South Carolina home. 

Nancy first became enamored with watercolor at the age of 35, after taking a
workshop at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, where she and her husband were
raising their young family. She credits artist/instructor Nona Butterworth
with giving her a strong foundation in handling the medium. She has taken
classes and workshops with many fine artists since those early years and
continues to explore and stretch her skills.


Nancy is a member of Upstate Visual Arts and the Metropolitan Arts Council and is a member and docent at the Greenville County Museum of Art.  Nancy Barry maintains permanent gallery space and teaches classes in watercolor at The Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville, 200 N. Main St., Greenville, SC. Nancy's work can also be found at Frame Warehouse ~ 2454 Hudson Rd ~ Greer, SC
